What you need to know about Stages, all in here.
DISCLAIMER: The information provided below may vary depending on your doctor, the country where they received their education, the University they graduated from, their practice, your massage therapist, and/or the recovery facility involved. We understand this can be complex. Please read carefully and remember that each individual’s body is different and may require personalized care.
Flexible Staging: Customizable Compression, Same High-Quality Fabric
What truly sets SexySkinz apart is that our garments are interchangeable, they can be worn across multiple recovery phases. Whether Stage 1, 2, or 3, our fabric has a cooling technology and is infused with organic extracts and vitamins to help calm the skin, reduce swelling, and support tissue regeneration
It’s easy to wear post-op — similar in feel to softer shapewear, but superior in function.
As your body continues to heal and inflammation decreases, a smaller size in the same garment can provide the appropriate increase in compression.
Stage 1 Faja: Immediate Post-Operative Support (Day 1 TO Week 1 or 2)
Since day 1 post-surgery, to be able to properly move/walk many surgeons offer basic abdominal binders or soft shapers for support, these don’t provide the necessary medical compression to manage fluid retention and inflammation. These are soft and easy to apply over hypersensitive, inflamed skin, making them convenient for patients and cost-effective for providers.
Too much pressure too soon can cause discomfort and increase bruising.
Too little support can lead to fluid retention, seromas and fibrosis.
Stage 2 Faja: Contouring & Sculpting (Week 3 TO Week 6)
Your body is ready for more compression. Stage 2 fajas enhances body contouring — helping shape and mold your body toward your desired result, reduce inflammation and support skin retraction and tissue adherence.
When to switch:
Typically after week two, depending on your personal recovery pace.
With SexySkinz, you can either:
Size down in your current faja for a tighter fit
Or explore our wide range of high-compression Stage 2 options according to your needs.
Stage 3 Faja: Final Definition & Long-Term Shaping
Stage 3 is where we solidify results and refine your silhouette. These garments are extra high compression, targeting residual swelling and helping maintain long-term results. Usually with integrated steel boning for structure and waist definition.
Important Medical Note:
We do not recommend fajas with steel boning in the immediate post-op period (first 1–2 weeks). Even though our boned garments are designed with internal reinforcement to prevent direct skin contact, introducing them too early can increase the risk of:
- Permanent indentations
- Lacerations over fluid-filled areas
Wait until fluid retention has significantly decreased before transitioning into Stage 3 compression.
